Focal JMLab, the French speaker specialist, is completing its Profile series with two new devices, dubbed SR908 and IW-908. SR stands for Surround, IW for In-Wall.

The SR908 is a surround bi-polar speaker that takes on the Profile series aesthetic codes. It carries four speakers, of which two dome-shaped aluminium/magnesium alloy inverted dome diaphragm tweeters, and two medium “W” cone speakers.

JMLab claims that an optimized diffusion configuration allows for an 180 degrees homogeneity, so that those who are listening cannot actually locate the loudspeaker. It is a 175 Watt device, with 91 dB sensitivity, and 75-Hz to 30.5-kHz.

The IW 908 is an evolution drawn from two recent JMLab series, “Caché” (literally, “hidden”) in-wall and Profile. It is a closed loudspeaker system that carries the Aluminium/Magnesium inverted dome tweeter and the 165 mm “W” cone medium bass. A three position selector adjusts the position of the speaker and corrects the tweeter level (6 db).

It’s an 80 Watt, 88 dB and 60 Hz -30.5 kHz system.

It will be available in a white finish.
