Logitech demonstrates new Harmony One Remote (CES 2008)
Accessories company, Logitech, demonstrated at its booth at CES it new Harmony One programmable remote control device, which the company says will give families one-touch access to up to fifteen devices simultaneously. The device features sculpted, back lighted buttons in arranged in logical zones designed make it easy to navigate even in the dark; and the ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the user’s hand.
Through the Harmony website, the device supports more than 5,000 brands and is able to replace up to 15 remotes. Online software guides people through setup. Additionally, the device sits in a cradle dock which ensures that the device remains fully charged at all times.
The key features of the remote are a full colour touch screen and Smart State Technology which allows the remote to track the power state and input setting of the various devices it controls. Therefore Harmony remote control customers should be able to switch between home cinema and listening to music by selecting a single activity button.
The device is available in the US for approximately $250. UK availability has yet to be announced.
