LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2008 – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) recognized LG Electronics for
excellence in design and technology with 14 prestigious CES 2008 Innovations Awards, including the CES
2008 ‘Best of Innovations’ in the video display category for LG’s 50-inch single-layer design 1080p “Full
HD” plasma HDTV (model 50PG60).

LG products were honored in multiple highly competitive categories, including Video Displays, Video
Components, Personal Electronics, Home Appliance, and Wireless Communications.

CES Innovations Awards are selected annually by a panel of prominent industry designers, engineers
and journalists who judge product entries on criteria including user value, aesthetics, innovative
design, quality and contributions to the quality of life. Sponsored by CEA and endorsed by the Industrial
Designers Society of America, the CES Innovations Awards highlight product advancements in
technology design and engineering.

Earning more than 60 CES Innovations Awards over the past four years, LG Electronics is consistently
among the most-honored companies. LG’s honorees for the 2008 International CES include:
Video Displays
• 50-inch 1080p Plasma HDTV-Single Layer Design (50PG60) – LG Electronics’ 50-inch Plasma
“Full HD” 1080p HDTV boasts an ultra-slim chassis and unique invisible speaker system which
delivers a clean and premium design.

• 52-inch LCD 1080P Wireless HDTV (52LG71) – LG Electronics’ 52-inch 1080p “Full HD” LCD

• 32-inch DVD Combo LCD HDTV (32LG40) – LG Electronics’ 32-inch LCD HDTV with integrated
DVD player features invisible speakers, coupled with a high-glossy black finish and unique red
accents making this the perfect TV for the bedroom.

Video Components
• Digital TV Tuner (DTT900) – Developed and produced by LG Electronics, the new Zenith-brand
digital-to-analog converter box is one of the first to be certified for the U.S. Commerce
Department’s coupon program; it will bring interference-free digital TV broadcasts to analog
TVs, supporting the U.S. DTV transition.
