"Every amplifier and speaker manufacturer develops its own particular sound quality. Any judgement in the field is a matter of personal taste. In addition, different combinations of amps and speakers give completely different results. Once again, the appreciation of the result of the equation with two variables is purely subjective.Another factor that shouldn’t however be ignored is the cable. Just like a speaker or an amplifier, each cable possesses its own sound quality. This detail will have even more importance if you choose a top of the range system.
It should be said that the cabling also attracts some pretty way-out claims in hi-fi and video… as long as "magic" cable and "supra connector" manufacturers are around. It’s possible to find, for the same length of speaker cable, price differences ranging from less than 1 Euro/metre up to more than 7,500 Euros/metre! In the end it comes down to how far you want to stretch the global budget for your installation. The expenditure for the cabling should be taken in relation to this, but it’s certainly not necessary, nor useful, to spend the equivalent of half the price of your speakers on cabling.
Nevertheless, it remains true that the speaker and audio-video cabling constitute an important part of the global quality of your installation, which can, depending on the case, noticeably help or hinder."
