Sony presents Pearl, 3 SXRD chip 1080p video projector (CEDIA EXPO 2006)

Sony had its ìgems" on display ! Jon Reilly, Product Manager, give us an explanation of the similarities and differences between the new Pearl, which has the reference VPL-VW50, and big brother Ruby, VPL-VW100. Pearl has a 200 watt UHP lamp rather than the Xenon 400 watt but offers a brightness of 900 lumens. Both incorporate three SXRDô (Silicon X-tal (Crystal) Reflective Display) chips. Available in October, it is very aggressively priced at a MSRP of 4995 $.
