Sharp Aquos range of LCD TV's set to get larger! (What Hifi Stuff Show 2006)

John Mathews, Product Training Manager, demonstrates the LC52XD1E, a full 1080 1920 resolution LCD with 6.22 million sub-pixels. Unlike many LCD panels, this model has a contrast ratio of 2000:1 so it can recreate the colour spectrum very effectively. The XD range is available in 37", 42", 46" and 52" models. John also tells us about the LC65GD1 which is the world's largest full 1080 1920 resolution LCD. It's no surprise that the average size of LCD panels is increasing so we will be expecting even larger sets to be released onto the market. Sharp is one of the largest manufacturers of LCD panels and so expects to be at the forefront of this technology.
